Fall Festival Is This Sunday

Sunday, September 20 · 12 to 2pm · Rain (inside Connors) or shine (playground + 2nd St)

• Free for every Connors family! No RSVP, and all siblings are welcome.
• Enjoy inflatables, games, crafts, and music. Snacks, drinks, and a Connors swag sale too, with the inflatables sponsored by Mile Square Orthodontics. Cal’s Hot Dogs and Tastebuds Taco Truck will be on site, with lunch available for purchase.
• The raffle features 20 prizes worth $5,500+. Buy tickets online in advance or in person, pick the prizes you want, and pay by card or tap to pay. You don’t have to be there to win.
• Make an impact, volunteer. Most slots are an hour or less, so you can take a shift and still enjoy the festival.

Get Involved

PTO Liaisons, WhatsApp, and Committees

• One PTO Liaison per class this year, two for each Kindergarten homeroom. Everyone who expressed interest hears from us this week either way.
• Join your class WhatsApp group. The fastest way to catch reminders, ask the small questions, and sort out class celebrations.
• Committees are open to everyone. Every committee is listed on the site with what it involves and when it runs, so you can still raise your hand. First timers welcome.

• Attendance. Students cannot miss more than 17 days of school. Ordinary illness does not count as excused. Form letters go out at 4, 8, and 12 absences. Communicate in advance to work out a plan around a surgery, a long trip abroad, or a chronic condition. A partial day still counts as present if your child is here four hours plus lunch.
• Phones and smartwatches stay off your kid. New this year, no internet-enabled device on their person, matching the middle school. Lock boxes are going into every homeroom. The weekly lunch form closes Monday at 8:30am. Vegetarian meals take a separate weekly form from Aishah, and a second Friday pizza slice is $2. Your child is always fed either way.
• There is much more in the Connors Family Manual and FAQs. The presentation also covered homework, Chromebooks, birthdays, allergies, arrival and dismissal, the nurse, safety, and assessments.

What’s Coming Up

• Book a fall photo session + support the PTO. Connors dad Matt Roberts is donating 20% of every 15 minute fall mini session booked by September 20. October weekend slots, $225.
• Kindergarten Parents Night Out: Wednesday September 24 at 8pm at Snack Bar. Games, prizes, and a chance to meet the other families in your kid’s class.
• HPEF Back to School 5K: Sunday September 27. Fun run at 8:30am, one mile at 9am, timed 5K at 10am. Sign up now to support our district. Come work the Connors table from 8 to 10am.
• Free Costume Shop: October 14 and 23 from 3 to 5:30pm, plus parent teacher conferences on the 21st. Drop donations at Fall Festival or in the school bin through October 13.
